I am so glad you’re here. I am Ren Peters, and Caribbean Soul Food is my way of sharing my recipes with everyone around the world.
What began in 2024 as a quest to showcase my granny’s recipes has become a collection of 200+ recipes and articles for the home cook, Caribbean dishes. I have readers from all the way from China trying Trinidadian and Jamaican food. Can you believe that? My emails are full of people from different countries thanking me for introducing them to so many tasty recipes.
My love for Caribbean cuisine is deeply rooted in my childhood, but it also grew stronger with each holiday spent with my grandparents in Jamaica. There, I learned about each food spice and what seasonings make the dish unique to the Caribbean.
All About Ren

Ren Peters is the founder, recipe developer, and photographer behind Caribbean Soul Food and author of most of the recipes. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. But grew up in Fyzabad, Trinidad, and spent the July-August vacation in Kingston, Jamaica, with her grandparents. She doesn’t subscribe to any particular diet and eats whatever she wants.
During her time at the University of the West Indies, with her degree in Food and Agriculture, going out into the world on her own inspired Wendy to start a Caribbean food blog. She loves writing and discovering new ways to incorporate different cultures and combining them in her recipes.
